c i r c u m s t a n c e s a r c
Thirty minutes later...
When the two arrived at the University of the Central, Peter parked his car in the University's parking lot. The University's entire area is large, with fifteen floors, 8 buildings with different departments, and it's Mariano Calvin who leads the private University that opened in 1956. The walls of the building were maroon and peach white, with a phoenix surrounded by fire as the University's trademark on the top of the roof. Peter and Delia are both in third-year college including Anthony and Christina. and their other friends Jessica, Maribel, Sean, and Henry who is Peter's cousin.
Peter looked on his watch as they parked his car. "Oh, God! It's already 7:25 I'm late in 5 minutes for first subject. Peter and Delia went out to the car. "Hey!! you forgot your book here!" Peter said. "Oh! thanks!" she picked up her book.
"Give me those things!"
"No, don't worried I can handle this!" she said.
"Hey! I can do that! you have a lot of things in your backpack!!"
"No, I'm serious! at isa pa malapit naman dito yung building namin! kaya sige na pumasok kana, late kana ng 5 minutes sa first subject mo!"
"Okay I'll meet you up for lunch at the cafeteria!" he kissed his girlfriend on the cheek. As the two separated and went to each classroom, Delia immediately walked to the locker room first.
"Iwanan ko muna itong libro dito!" she said. And she rushed after to her classroom.
"Oh dumating na pala ang ating princess!!" Maribel said.
"Sana diba may taga hatid at sundo ng kotse!" Jessica said.

"Swertehan lang girls ano ba kayo!" she said as she smiled at her friends, and they went to the inside of their classroom.
Their classroom is on the second floor of Building A; the flooring are plain with white tiles and peach walls; their chairs are separated by brown color it; and their blackboard is divided into two sections: green and white. Delia's class has roughly 32 students.
The majority of students on Campus are rushing into their various classrooms to await the professor's introduction to their subjects, which is divided into two sessions at school: the afternoon and morning sessions. Outside and within the University, students can be walked, relaxed, and explored. Some students are at the royal botanical gardens, where they can be viewed and see a wide range of plants and flowers. Others are at the cafeteria, which serves their delectable meals and snacks. Meantime some students are in the University library where they can do read, research, and study.
Delia's course is BS in Journalism and Peter's course is BS in Civil Engineering, while some of their friends like Christina is a BS in Accountancy, Anthony is a BS in Information and Technology together with Delia's course Jessica and Maribel are also BS in Journalism, and the three young ladies entered the same room they're both classmates, while Henry and Sean were in the College of Law which their department located in the right side of campus.
Delia, Jessica, and Maribel went outside of their classroom for a moment together with their classmates, the trios discussing their creative writing projects that are supposed to be finished by next week.
“Okay, guys what do you think kung ito ang cover na aking gagamitin sa magazine?” Maribel said.
Delia's cheek was raised, "Ang ganda ng design mo! buti kapa!" amazed by Delia.
“Mas maayos na iyan! look I have also my own design for my cover!” Jessica answered.
"Ang cute naman ng harap!"
“Ang bilis nyo namang gawin iyan since lahat ay kalahati palang ang natatapos sa news magazine!”
"Kami pa ba Delia? E! Syempre masipag ata kami ni Jessica?!”
“So? Ang ibig mong sabihin tamad ako?” funny thoughts ng dalaga.
"Hoy! ikaw lang nagsabi niyan!"
"Yung akin lalagyan ko pa ng introduction sa harapan!" Jessica said.
"Can I see your work?" Maribel said.
They designed a cover for a news magazine that highlighted the importance of environmental issues and concerns in today's world. Global climate change has already had an impact on our environment. High atmospheric temperatures caused all icebergs from the northern and southern poles to recede at the same rate. As time went on, the melting glaciers and sea ice began to break up, animals and plants range changed, and trees began to bloom earlier.
"Okay I already saw your project Jessica!" she said to her friend.
"We are also worried and concerned about the happening in our environment!" concerned by Jessica.
"Yeah!! Me!! too!" Delia said while she deeply exhaled.
The ladies shared their ideas and thoughts about the final output of the magazine covers as well detailed pieces of information, and Jessica become alert when she saw their professor coming upstairs. “Oh my god guys get up!! Sir De Vera is here quick!” They rushed into the classroom together with their classmates.
As the entrance of their professor Luke De Vera, who is an Instructor of history and also Anthropologies at the University, the majority of the students began to relaxed. He started to spoked and everyone was so quiet staring at him, before proceeding in the discussion they began with a prayer.
“Good morning! Everyone!” he greeted with smiles on his lips. the students stood up in their chairs.
“Good morning! Sir Luke!” as greeted back by the students.
Their professor was taller and medium-skinned, with a mystical appearance and spectacles on it. "Where is the class secretary? Are all of your classmates in this class present?"
"We have three absences because of illness and medications, Sir.." said the secretary.

“Okay shall we proceed to our lesson!" his face was like processing inquiry thoughts, "Since we already discussed the American occupation, let’s talk about the arrival of the Japanese period! Anyone else has an Idea?” asked by the professor.
One student raised her hand. "Yes, Virginia!" and she started to spoked.
“Sir!... the Japanese Empire invaded the the entire archipelago of the Philippines from 1942 to 1945 during the second war, during the Japanese time it has been referred to as one of the worst moments in Philippine history during on that decade. The tumultuous experience and events of the conflict left an indelible imprint on the Filipino people's minds. Before they defeated, Japan occupied the Philippines for more than three years and they control our mountain, forest and so on...!!” a brightly answered by a student at the back.
“Okay! That's right, just 10 hours after striking the Harbor, Japan launched an attack on the Philippines on December 8, 1941. Field soldiers were deployed southern and northern of Manila after a preliminary aircraft attack.!” Prof. Luke said.
"Sir permission to follow that I answer!" Another student
raised a hand.
“In these normally gloomy and dreary days, Sir and classmates, there are a few persistent encouraging signs. Fortunately, it is our responsibility as thinkers of Philippine publications not to be picky or prejudiced when studying different works of literature, regardless in since they were developed!” a polite answer of the student.
The whole class has began to clap...
“That’s an excellent answer! Appreciated!!” praised by him, “And now I know some of you already knew about the Japanese occupation and that's good for all of you now let’s proceed to our lesson!”
As Jessica sighed, "Hindi na ako magtataka dahil matalino ang dalawang iyan!" she said on her thoughts.
"Sana diba lahat matalino?" murmured by Maribel.
The history session began quietly and attentively, with each student in the room paying close attention, All of their room's doors and windows were closed, and the only light in their classroom came from the projector. Through a video slideshow on-screen on the projector, the professor began explaining each detail of the events from the beginning of World War II.
"Grabe pala ang world war 2 sir!" said the student in the front.

“Wow! Matindin pala nung pangalawang digmaan sa Pinas!” Maribel spoke quietly.
"E halos yan nga daw ang pinaka madugong digmaan nuong panahon na iyan!" Jessica said.
Delia was stared to the projector and focused to watched the video clip presentation.
During their discussion on Japanese occupation in the Philippines, they also talked about the comfort women. And their prof quickly told the detailed how women on that moment at rest ladies were forced to provide sexual relaxation to a large number of officers and men, and how their human rights as women were violated on the process.
"I think this is one of the brutal in the Philippine history!" thought by the student.
"Luckily we're not living on that time!" he replied to his seatmate.
In their study of the history, they discussed and gape at the Japanese imperial warriors who spearheaded the start of the conflict during the second war, including Tomoyuki Yamashita. In the Pacific during world war 2, some referred to Tiger of Malaya as one of the more well-known generals the Allies faced.
"Wow, so that's Tomoyuki Yamashita? I liked his tales on the battle in the Pacific before!" the student said. "Tomoyuki Yamashita! He looks familiar!" said his seatmate.
The entire class became engaged in a discussion over the subject.

“Tomoyuki Yamashita?” asked the video.
“Sir siya ba nagmamay-ari ng Yamashita treasure?” a voice of student at the back.
“Totoo ba Yung Yamashita treasure?” the student doubted.
“Ang sabi nila katang isip lang daw yun no?”
“Pero sabi ng Lolo ko totoo daw ang Yamashita na Yan!”
“Wala pa ngang ebedensya tungkol Dyan!”
"May ilang mga pinoy kaya ang interest sa kayamanang yan!" said by the student.
“Okay! Class quite! Too loudly minimize your voice!
“Actually It’s a part of our culture! What are we called Urban legends! Mga kwentong bayan o haka-haka lamang! Maaaring may pinagmulan o di kaya’y gawa-gawa lamang!”
“Pero some of us may mga treasure hunters naman na naghahanap o naghuhukay sa mga kweba o minahan!”
“Yes! May mga tao talagang naniniwala sa kayamanang dala ng Yamashita na iyan!”
"Hay sana may ganyan akong mga kayamanan!" wished by the student.
"Gusto ko rin yan! Alam mo kung ako makahanap ng treasure na iyan paniguradong yayaman na kami!"
"Kami rin kaya! bibili ako ng bahay!" happy thoughts by the students.
During their hour-long discussion, the entire class grew quite rowdy. Delia was quiet listening to their discussion, she watched her classmates talk about Yamashita. “Okay! I think we shall continue our discussion next meeting! Let’s have a topic about the contribution of the Japanese in Philippine literature!” their professor said.
The lady was prayed as her mouth closed deeply and thoughts wished “Sana walang assignment!” stated by Delia.
“Sana nga dagdag na naman sa gawain!” responded by Maribel.
"Class we have an agreement by the next two days! we're having an upcoming written report that talks about the Spanish up to Japanese colonization!" prof. Luke said, the faces of the students began to frown.
"Hay! ayoko talaga ng History class!" Jessica said.
"Sinabi mo pa sis!!" agreed by Maribel.
When their professor prepared to leave their classroom Delia observed and examined the faces of Tomoyuki Yamashita on the screen of their projector.
"Yamashita!!" she whispered his name in the winds slowly. until she tapped her shoulder by Jessica.
"Girl gusto mo kumain ng cupcakes? Ito oh!" she immediately shared to Delia.
"Thanks, Jessica!" she said.
In a brief moment, the whole class awaits their next subject which is English Composition I.
