CHAPTER 4

The next morning, Mr. Johnson, a wealthy businessman, called attorney Yuna to meet her.
Attorney Yuna received the call from Mr. Johnson, she was taken aback. She had expected resistance from some of the individuals she had been investigating, but she never thought someone as prominent as Mr. Johnson would try to stop her. She agreed to meet him, but she knew that she would not be swayed by his words.
Yuna arrived at Mr. Johnson's office at 10 am sharp.
When Yuna arrived at Mr. Johnson's office, she was greeted by his assistant, who led her to a private conference room. Mr. Johnson was already there, sitting behind a large wooden desk.
"Good morning, Mr. Johnson," Yuna said, extending her hand.
"Good morning, Yuna." Mr. Johnson replied, shaking her hand.
"Thank you for coming, Ms. Yuna," he said, as he gestured for her to sit down. "I'm sure you're aware of the investigation you're currently undertaking."
"Yes, I am," Yuna replied, as she sat down. "And I'm determined to see it through to the end."
"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about," Mr. Johnson said, leaning forward. "You see, I have some information that might change your mind."
Yuna raised an eyebrow, curious to hear what he had to say.
"You see, Ms. Yuna, the people you're investigating are not just ordinary individuals," Mr. Johnson said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "They're part of a secret organization that has been operating in this city for years. They have a lot of power, and they're not afraid to use it."
Yuna listened intently, not sure where this was going.
"I'm telling you this because I want you to be safe," Mr. Johnson continued. "I don't want you to get hurt, or worse, because of this investigation."
Yuna shook her head. "I appreciate your concern, Mr. Johnson, but I'm not going to stop the investigation. I'm determined to see it through to the end, no matter what."
Mr. Johnson sighed. "I was afraid you were going to say that," he said, as he leaned back in his chair. "But you should know that you're putting yourself in danger. People are not to be trifled with. They'll stop at nothing to protect their secrets."
"I understand the risks," Yuna said, her voice firm. "But I have a job to do, and I'm not going to back down."
"Very well," Mr. Johnson said, standing up from his chair. "But don't say I didn't warn you."
Yuna stood up as well, and the two of them shook hands before she left his office. She knew that things were going to get even more difficult from here on out, but she was ready for whatever came her way.
As, Attorney Yuna sat alone at a small table in the back of a cozy café, her eyes fixated on her phone screen. She scrolled through emails and messages, each one filled with clues and evidence that could help her solve the case. Suddenly, her phone rang, and she quickly answered it.
"Yuna speaking," she said, her voice cool and professional.
"Yuna, it's Lee. What's the latest on the case?" came the deep voice of Detective Lee, Yuna's partner in the investigation.
"I think we're getting closer to finding out what happened, but we've hit a bit of a roadblock," Yuna replied, her eyes darting around the café to make sure no one was listening in.
"What kind of roadblock?" Lee asked, concern evident in his voice.
"Mr. Johnson, the wealthy businessman we suspect may be involved, has called me this early morning to meet with him and tried me to convince to stop the investigation," Yuna explained, frustration creeping into her voice.
"Damn. We can't let him get away with this," Lee growled.
"I know. That's why I called you. I need your help," Yuna said, determination in her voice.
"Of course. Where do you want to meet?" Lee asked.
"Right here, actually. I've already ordered us some coffee," Yuna replied, gesturing to the steaming cups on the table in front of her.
Lee arrived a few minutes later, his tall, imposing figure attracting the attention of a few curious patrons. He sat down across from Yuna, his eyes locked on hers.
"What's our next move?" he asked, his tone clipped.
"We need to find a way to get past Johnson's legal team and continue the investigation," Yuna said, her brow furrowed in thought.
"Agreed. Do we have any leads?" Lee asked, leaning forward.
"Just one. A witness who claims to have seen Johnson meeting with a suspicious-looking man on the night of the crime," Yuna said, pulling out a small notebook and flipping to a page filled with scribbled notes.
Okay. Let's go talk to this witness and see what we can find out," Lee said, standing up and grabbing his coat.
The two partners made their way out of the café and onto the bustling city streets. They weaved through crowds of people, their eyes scanning the faces around them for any signs of danger. After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at a small apartment building and made their way up to the third floor.
