Chapter 4

Yuri, who was currently with the man, suddenly remembered something. The name he had just said sounded familiar. Not long after, Yuri immediately said goodbye to the man and went straight to his apartment. Meanwhile, the old man was still there. His gaze looked strange when he saw Yuri's reaction. Because there was no one else to ask, the man finally left. Currently, right inside Yuri's apartment. He was sitting on the sofa slowly looking at the ceiling and then took a deep breath. The sound of his neighbor playing music was heard in his living room. Yuri, who was feeling frustrated, was even more moved by the actions of the neighbor's occupant. A few moments later, his cell phone rang and it turned out there was an incoming message from one of his friends. The person said to meet them who were currently hanging out at a bar near the city center. Without further ado, he immediately replied to the message and said he would be leaving in a minute. Looking at the clock, which still showed 9 pm, Yuri prepared to go meet his friends there. When he arrived at the bar, he saw several of his friends drinking and laughing. They were none other than his colleagues who also worked in the same place as him.
“Wow, you’ve come, my friend.”
"What's going on? You guys just arrived and you already look terrible," Yuri said to one of his friends, who was already starting to look drunk.
“Ah, that… because of this,” he said while showing the glass containing the drink.
"I heard you're going on a new mission. Is it real?" Phel asked a curious Yuri.
“Yes. Did the boss tell you?”
“That's right. He told me. Do you need a partner?”
"Huh? No need. That would be dangerous so let me handle it myself."
“Wow, wow, you are really too much.”
“That's not the problem.”
“Then what? You don’t want us to come? Are you really that selfish?” Nathan asked, still looking drunk.
“It's hard to explain.”
“Oh my, okay. If it's a secret.”
“It's good if you really understand.”
“Oh yeah, have you received any information from the center?”
“What information?”
“It looks like they intend to attack.”
"What?"
“Hey, did I hear correctly? Why them? Of all the humans, why them?”
"This is just a rumor. So, it's still gray."
“If that were to come true, it would be a real hassle,” Nathan said, taking another sip of his drink.
“Are you two alone?” Yuri asked.
"Earlier, Tio came, but the boy left in a hurry because he had something to do."
"That's what it looks like."
“Oh yeah, how about you? Are you starting to come to your senses now?”
“Damn it. I was sane from the start.”
Their conversation continued. The conversation was filled with people with the pressures weighing on their heads, and now they were together, sipping a few drinks. Yuri, who had also been drawn in by them, had already finished two glasses of alcohol. This bar was indeed a suitable place to simply relax and have a drink. A place that was indeed only frequented by a few people of the same genre as them. The location was quite strategic, even though it was in a small alley. People who came here weren't just enjoying drinks, but many also made transactions with their clients. The quiet and dim atmosphere made them choose this place over others.
"Oh yeah, have you ever heard someone say that humans are pathetic?" Nathan spoke while holding his glass. This made Yuri and Phel look at him seriously.
"Sad?"
“That’s right. You two have really never heard that saying?”
"Not really. I hear that phrase often. What's wrong with that?" Yuri said.
“Do you often hear it too, Phel?”
“Yes, several times.”
“So, it turns out there's some truth to it. Until now, I thought it was just some loser's nonsense. But it turns out it's true. Damn it.”
“You should stop drinking. You're already very drunk.”
“No. This isn’t the time to stop. There are still a few more shots, hahaha.”
"You stupid."
“Then, if it is sad, what is the problem?”
"Hey, don't let him get carried away. This kid is completely drunk. He's lost all common sense," Phel said firmly to Yuri, drawing several glances.
"It's okay, it's just my opinion. I didn't believe those damn words until I finally felt them."
"Gosh," said Phel, who immediately rubbed his face, feeling frustrated by the behavior of his two friends.
“One more thing. Do you believe in tarot?”
“No. That's just nonsense. Can humans be predicted? Don't joke. No one can accurately predict anyone.”
"This time I agree with what you said, Yuri," replied Nathan, who looked at her with a look as if he was starting to lose consciousness.
The three of them were in the bar until late at night. One of the waiters offered them more drinks. Not long after, Phel who was still conscious started to move from his seat and wanted to leave. Yuri who saw him like that immediately asked him without a word.
“Are you going?”
"Yeah, it's getting pretty late. I have some work to do. See you later," he said, waving.
Meanwhile, Nathan, who had just come out of the restroom, was now feeling better than before. The two of them finally left the room. This time, they were in a different location. The boss was sitting relaxed, looking out the glass window overlooking the city center. The room, lit only by the light from the window, created an eerie silence. He sat there holding a glass of wine, seemingly enjoying the view. Not long after, someone approached him. That person was none other than his subordinate, whom he had previously summoned to meet in the room.
“Excuse me, sir, did you call me?” the man said respectfully.
“Yes. There is something you want to do.”
After the man received his assignment, he immediately said goodbye and left the room. The boss, who was still there, was seen moving his glass, followed by a smile. The footsteps of the man who had just left the room echoed throughout the corridor. Upon arriving inside the apartment, this time Yuri began to feel dizzy so he immediately collapsed on the sofa. His cell phone rang several times, but he didn't answer it. It seemed like someone had just called him, and it turned out to be true. Yuri, who still felt unwell, finally tried to get up and get some water. Once his hangover began to subside, he checked his cell phone, which had been ringing continuously. Upon looking at his call history, it turned out that one of his subordinates had contacted him and also sent him a text message.
“What is this?” Yuri muttered as he froze as he read the message.
