Chapter 2: The Brewing Strife

"I have a scheduled one on one interview with Lee Heeseung at eleven o'clock."
The receving staff looked at her from head to toe, the kind of manner that disgust Aerin even more.
"This is my first time seeing such journalist looking so bland. You're interviewing Lee Heeseung, the hottest guy in the world, with that look? What company are you in?"
The sarcasm is so loud and Aerin tried to control her mouth that's about to blow up in profanity but looking at the massive amount of makeup the secretary's face have, she almost burst out laughing. Her face is whiter than her arms, so the mockery is invalid.
"I think looking plainly is better than looking uneven. Don't you think so?"
"Excuse me?!"
Holding that smirk is difficult, a light chuckle came out of Aerin's mouth that made the receptionist brows knit in annoyance.
"Second floor, room 204. Better go there first. The members are arriving in minutes and the security is getting tighter. They might think you're one of the crazy fans and send you out."
"But not with this." Aerin waved her company ID straight to the secretary's fuming face. "Thanks for accommodating. Have a nice day."
Aerin stormed out of the reception and hurriedly searched for the washroom. Her emotions are trying to get on her way again, messing everything once again.
In the vacous room, Aerin finally breathes out. She knows her armor plates are solid but somehow, the expressed opinion affected her, it sounds like an insult she never thought she'd hear.
Bland? Is she really?
Aerin searched something inside her bag and finds it fast, she was relieved. Holding that make up Jiah gave her is making her mind and heart battles unfairly. She's not wearing make up, just occasionally. She's embracing her natural look because she knows she has big, beautiful eyes and her nose has a natural, chiseled like tip - her biggest flex among her facial features. Putting that make up on means she lost her stand and accepted the secretary's mockery wholeheartedly.
"Ah, screw you all." she madly uttered.
Aerin finally applied it, bit by bit, as light as she wants it to be. She should've done it faster if only she didn't struggle putting on the eyeshadow. Whoever invented the product deserves to sleep in jail. Blending it is a pain in the ass. She too careful not to overdo it for she'll look like scowl with uneven purple glitters.
Then suddenly, she heard a commotion coming from the outside. Aerin took her stuff quickly and stormed out of the washroom but halted when a bunch of security greeted her sight.
They are clearing the lounge to make way for their biggest talents and the company's milking cows. Not long enough, the mighty seven men will enter the building and fans screaming from the outside is stinging her ears. Putting it all together doesn't make any sense. Worshipping an idol is so sick and the thought made Aerin roll her eyes a little bit more.
"Stop right there. Make way for the artists!" someone shouted at her.
Aerin stopped and surprisingly pinned herself next to the wall. Was that really necessary? The way is so clear they could have put on a dance break.
"I need to take this elevator." she stated.
"I said do not move. Let them settle up first!"
"B-But--"
Aerin was cut short when the screams from the outside grow prominently loud. Everything around her moves in a lumbering pace. One by one, Enhypen members passed by her, so swift like high end cars.
Jungwon, the group's leader, have always that commanding presence in him. Sunghoon's look is always ethereal. Sunoo is consistently cute. Jake gorgeous face can make jaws drop in seconds. Jay's jawline is so distinct it could move hearts so easily. And Ni-Ki's bad boy look is so hot one can flake out.
But Aerin, in that corner, is so close to grab and touch them but stayed stoic. Even the smell of their perfumes didn't bother her at all. She just lazily stood there, silent and unmoved while fans outside the building are dramatically crying to almost collapsing. Aerin's shook her head in disbelief and so fed up with the drama.
Things went by so quickly and Aerin followed the boys with her sight as they took the elevator on their way up. She counted them all before the lift closes and Lee Heeseung is nowhere in sight.
"I'm dead-" she whispered after realizing why she was there in the very first place.
"I said, make way!" the security hissed at her again as she tried to move.
"I need to take the lift! I'm late for my schedule!"
"Dare to make one move or I'll send you out!"
That warning made Aerin cease her feet from making a single step. Jiah told her that Lee Heeseung dislikes delays. Her heart races from the thoughts that's running inside her brain. It's either Lee Heeseung is already waiting for her or he's still on his way in. Aerin prayed for the latter.
"Oh my God! Hee!"
Surprisingly, that scream from the outside sounds divine to her ears. Aerin sighed in relief seeing the last member entered the building but she was again tacked on the side.
"Let go of me. I need to take that elevator. Please." she begged.
"Lee Heeseung is taking this lift."
"But I need to take that, too! I need to go up now!"
"Negative."
Aerin is furious she could have choke the man in no time. She plans to escape from the strong hands that's blocking her way out and all she need is to run. When Lee Heeseung pass on her way, that's the time to flee straight to the stairs as fast as she can without looking back. It is so easy. No sweat for that.
Aerin is gripping her stuff tightly and is so ready to take the stride but was cut short by a formidable presence. Looking at the person standing inches away from her face is just as terrifying like meeting the Greek God Apollo himself. The face is giving godlike visual but the appeal is extremely dangerous, like Hades of the underworld. She have never seen such an intimidating man all her life.
Aerin was out for words for seconds while her mind is battling what her emotions are trying to prove. She was stunned seeing an idol, for the very first time, and how she hates Lee Heeseung even more for it.
"You might eat your words, Aerin. I'm telling you, Lee Heeseung can capture hearts without even doing anything. Don't tell me I didn't warn you."
Jiah's words echoed into thin air.
Aerin closed her eyes as she begins to breath slow. She shook her head vigorously to get rid of unnecessary thoughts that's trying to destabilize her.
"Are you trying to take this lift, too? You can come with me."
Why is that voice so good trying to daze her? She opened her eyes and was stupefied. Those roe deer like eyes are made to drag someone into his own faction, much more the height and those lean and muscular figure. And damn, that smile.
But again, she's not falling for it. For idols are trained to pull every girl's hearts but she's an exemption. Lee Heeseung's smile might be the prettiest she had ever seen but it won't cull her heartstrings out of its place. Never.
"I'm not interested." she answered straightly.
Aerin knows she sounded vile but it was too late to take the words back.
Heeseung shrugged his shoulders as he speaks. "Suit yourself."
Heeseung rode the lift alone and when Aerin regains her senses, she made her most biggest tread straight into the flight of steps to reach the assigned room completely ignoring the security shouting in anger. She was out of breath the moment she reached the room and took her seat.
"You are three minutes late."
And for the second time, Aerin halts in a voice so noticeably pleasing to her ears. It sounds masculine and authoritative but the tone is gruff, suggesting a degree of seriousness.
Aerin gulped the weird feeling that's trying to cover her in. She can feel it, deep down in her bones, the tension between her and Lee Heeseung is just getting started.
